While away from our house for DTS debriefing, our house got broken into. This is actually the second time. However, the first time they didn’t actually get in the house – just almost. I do have a lot to be thankful for. No one was hurt and nothing actually got stolen. It’s just a bit unsettling, and it reminds me of this country we are living in. Some websites rank S. Africa in the top 5 most violent nations. While I don’t want to live in fear, I battle with walking in faith and trusting God to take care of us. I know He will, but when things like this happen, it seems like fear rears its ugly head again. I’m still getting used to a life of alarm systems, fences with razor wire, and a big, front gate that you keep locked even when you are at home. Don’t let this scare you from ever coming here because there are many awesome things about Africa. But if I must be honest with myself, this is reality that we have to face with living here, but God is BIGGER! I am thankful for our prompt and reliable security company, J&M Security. They do help me sleep a little easier at night. So thanks for reading my thoughts and keeping us in your prayers. It means the world to us.
