Sure you can buy those pre-made packets in the store. But isn’t homemade always better? Of course, it is! And the great thing is you can make it as sweet or chocolatey as you want. I pretty much use the recipe on the Hershey’s cocoa can except I add a little more cocoa.
Hot Cocoa
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons cocoa
dash salt
1/3 cup hot water
4 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
Mix sugar, cocoa, and salt in pot. Stir water in and bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Reduce heat. Add milk and heat through but don’t boil. Take off burner and add vanilla.
