Have you ever had those God moments when something just seems to connect and you know that it has to be God? I’m sure you have. I had one of those lately and I’m so excited to share it with you. Without going into all the details, I stumbled across Knit A Square, a charity who encourages knitters all over the world to get involved with the orphan crisis. I was already hooked. A beginning knitter who has fallen in love with the craft and a charity knitting for orphans? Hello! So I emailed them right away to see if there were possibilities to connect. The response was immediate and so began a dialogue that has resulted in teaming up to bring warmth to Africa’s orphans this winter! One of those moments I tell you.
So…I’m calling all knitters or if you know of knitters, this is such a great way to get involved! To lovingly knit each stitch knowing that a child will be kept warm for the winter months. And as you knit, to pray that God would touch each one with His love. Guys, this is powerful stuff!
If you want to get involved, please visit the Knit A Square website. And you can read our little blurb here. For our particular project, we are focusing on hats and vests first and then moving onto blankets. And they have conveniently put patterns on their website as well as mailing information. I keep looking at these little heads, thinking of the beautiful hats that are going to speak love and warmth to these precious kids!
