We all have a need to feel appreciated, whether it be for our hard work, daily tasks, or thoughtfulness. The men of women who work in the communities here on a daily basis need it all the more.
Can you imagine daily seeing kids with hungry stomachs and no parents to provide for them? Seeing the scent of death come in like a thief and steal life? Pouring out your heart and finances to feed a child only to have accusations flown at you by the child’s relative? That’s what the men and women living in communities like Mbonisweni and Kabokweni are faced with.
These guys are caring for the kids but they also need people caring for them. That was the heart behind our Volunteer Appreciation Day on Tuesday. We wanted to recognize their hard work and say a simple thank you. To lift their arms and say we are with you. After words of encouragement, certificates, and gifts, we prayed for them. That God would bless them greatly as they are on the front lines caring for the orphans and the widows…
