This week we received some sobering news. A fellow friend was murdered in the country he was ministering in. I can think of only two words that describe what I’m feeling…shock and sadness. This tragic event begs the question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” The DTS was faced with this question when a lady they met shared her story of loss, pain, and destruction.
I know in my heart that free will was the most loving choice that God could make to allow us amazing relationship with Him. The flip side of that is sometimes people make bad choices. Not just bad ones but ones filled with hate and destruction. These are the ones that bring me to my knees in prayer.
We’ve experienced God’s protection many times, but anything could happen. In my prayers to God for protection, I also hold to unwavering faith, knowing that my hope and trust must always be found in Him.
Please pray for this family. Because of the sensitive area they worked, I am unable to disclose much information, but God knows and He will hear all the prayers going up for them.
