A Heavy Heart

such fun times…

My heart is so very heavy as I write this post, mourning the loss of a longtime friend.  A roommate of mine before I was married.  She stood in our wedding.  Jeremy and I stood in her wedding.  We traveled to India together and all over the U.S., making so many great memories along the way.

I am reminded of the recent sermon series at church…what am I going to do with this ONE LIFE that Jesus gave me?  Karen’s life challenged me in so many ways.  Her joy of the Lord and her pure and simple devotion to Him was contagious and made you want to know Jesus more.  Her ONE LIFE challenged many people and I know encouraged them to walk a little closer with Jesus.  It challenges me to make a difference with my ONE LIFE, not always through what I do, but through who I am in Him.

Karen had an amazing voice and I can still hear her singing at our wedding, “To God be the glory…great things He has done!”  Yes!  Great things He has done through Karen’s life!

For now I will cry, mourn, treasure the memories, and thank God for such an amazing woman who exuded the love of Jesus.  Karen, give the “big man upstairs” a hug and a kiss from me!  I love you!
