I used to play it safe with recipes, only using the old faithful ones when it came to having guests over or baking for a particular event. I don’t do that much anymore. I’ve found it’s the best time to try out new recipes! For the fall carnival at the kid’s school I made up a batch of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Oh, my goodness! These were so good! I used the fresh pumpkin I had prepared and frozen (I knew that would come in handy) and I only baked mine for 10 minutes. (My oven likes to cook pretty hot.)
And if you’re wondering about the tags on the bags, they are the traveling oak leaf and flower power from Nicky Epstein’s Knitting A Kiss In Every Stitch. The traveling oak leaf pattern can be downloaded for free here!
