I decided to get out of the house to do a little blog writing and let Jeremy have a quiet house to himself. A moment when you’re the only one in the house? That’s a rare thing when you have a family, but oh, so nice! So yes, here I sit, only I don’t really have too much on my mind to write about, so I thought I would just throw out random bits of news for you.
Today I made rye crackers from my favorite bread book that I constantly talk about, Artisan Breads Every Day, to serve with roasted eggplant and red pepper soup (a great eggplant dish if you don’t like the texture of eggplant).
I really need a haircut. I’m thinking it’s time to make a Hairdresser House Call!
Speaking of soup, I was in Barnes & Noble the other day and browsed one of Barefoot Contessa‘s cookbooks. I came across a roasted veggie soup. It’s definitely on my list to try this week!
In case you haven’t noticed, I have a giveaway going on here! It ends tonight so be sure to snag your entry! Even if you don’t call yourself the crafty type to win fabric or a necklace kit, both would be a great gift for the crafty person on your list to make!
I’m currently reading As Sure As The Dawn by Francine Rivers. It’s the final book in her Mark of the Lion series.
We are getting ready for our second family camping trip of the year! The temps have dropped around here (finally) making it feel like fall, so I’m anxious to see what the weather is like while camping!
I’m excited to be cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year! It will be a small gathering, but fun! I’m cooking a turkey for the first time ever. I’ve always been scared it would come out dry. I’ve heard rave reviews about brining a turkey so I am choosing to do that! My complete Thanksgiving menu will be up on Today’s Mama soon!
Currently on my knitting needles is a baby dress similar to the baby doll dresses for sale in my shop. Not having a project on my needles doesn’t last long for me!
Although I am taking a sewing break (as indicated here), I am looking for the perfect towels for Saltwater Kids 5 Minute Bread Bag. Not only could I use a bread bag for all the bread I make, but I could also use several for all the bread I will be gifting this year!
My 1000th post is coming up! I can’t believe it! Look for a very fun giveaway coming soon to celebrate this milestone!
A friend just sent me a link to a video of some of his friends singing I Still Believe In Love. Beautiful song and a nice simple reminder of the theme of this blog!
That’s what’s going on in our neck of the woods? What’s going on in yours?
