A Piece Of Art

So I don’t call myself a painter (I know that’s a repeat as I’ve said it many times before), but I’ve finally come to the place where I find it enjoyable to paint something on a canvas.  I italicized something because sometimes it’s a mystery! {Smile.}

A couple of nights ago, I went and painted something on a canvas with a group of ladies, and it was oh, so fun!  I’ve always been intimidated when given this…

So big, so blank…the tools are there to create something beautiful but, geesh, to know where to start is a little overwhelming.

Thankfully, I can finally enjoy the process of getting to that final result.  I am a perfectionist, though!  (You might not know it…just look at those crooked lines!)

I started with a blank canvas and went home with Golden Streets

It is a painting that I would actually hang in my house!  Right now it sits in our bedroom above our desk.  If my prints hanging in my living room sell (I’ll talk about that in a minute), then I might be brave enough to move it out there!

When Emma G saw it the next morning, she asked, “How the heck did you do that?!”  (She’s seen my other paintings so that’s where the shock and awe came from.)  Well, I’ll tell you how.  Through GNosh!  You pay a fee (I paid $25 for 2 1/2 hours of painting) and they provide all the materials as well as step by step instructions.  At the end of the night you take home a finished painting!  Our instructor (who just happened to be from S. Africa…I had a lovely chat with her) was very encouraging through the process!

About my (hopefully) disappearing prints…well, the next three Saturdays I will be selling at the Love Life Craft Fair!  I am very excited about this opportunity and praying that I sell lots!  If you’re in the area, come check it out!  Details about the event found here.
