fusilli :: a hat for moi

I rarely knit for myself.  Over the course of my knitting career, I’ve made myself 2 hats, one I gave away, and one is packed away in Africa.  I’ve also made myself my Shalom sweater, oh, and some toasts, but I do believe that is it.

The past few months I’ve told Jeremy that I needed to make myself a hat.  Problem was I had too many other projects on the list with time constraints.  Needless to say, my hat kept getting pushed farther and farther back on the list.  That is, until our recent snowy Sunday, a perfect day to knit a hat for yourself.

As I browsed all the free patterns on Ravelry, I was a bit overwhelmed with the choices.  I finally went with the Fusilli Beanie.  I liked the holes and felt like it gave it a bit of a feminine touch.  I had yarn left from a recent order so I knit this up in that, Bernat Alpaca Natural Blends in natural (same yarn I used for Emma G’s hat, different color).  I probably could have done another pattern repeat but started the decreases so I didn’t run out of yarn.  See my Ravelry page for details.

The weather may be warming up to the 50’s, but I’m thankful I have this little hat for myself for the next round of cold temps!

I don’t particularly like photo shoots of myself, but I do thank my husband for taking these photos!
