David Ponder returns in The Final Summit, the sequel to The Traveler’s Gift.  As humanity sinks further from its original purpose, David is chosen as the man to lead a team of “travelers” to find the answer to the question, “What does humanity need to do, individually and collectively, to restore itself to the pathway toward successful civilization?”  With only 5 chances to answer this question, history’s best and brightest are called on for their wisdom.  Will they find the right answer before time runs out?

This book was an easy and fun read for me.  I loved how the author incorporated history into the story.  I also loved how the simple question and the discussions that followed really challenged me to think.  I found many nuggets of wisdom and truth scattered throughout the book.  The answer to the question found me asking, “What is my part in the restoration of humanity, and how best can I live my life to reflect Jesus?”  I would definitely recommend this book.  It has an easy read feel to it while also maintaining a depth to ponder beyond the last page.
