Late in the day, we decided to wander over to The Science Museum, another great free one in London. We didn’t have much time to explore and had I known it was so cool, we would have gotten there much sooner. The kids loved it!
From the section on space to old airplanes to a room on learning about the atmosphere, there was just so much to do. I think the kid’s favorite part was the Web Lab created by Google. It was filled with so many cool things to see how the web works and how you can interact with people all over the world.
Upon entering the lab, you receive your lab card. Every activity you do is recorded onto that card. When you get home, you can hold that card up to your webcam, and it shows you everything you did in the lab. Isn’t that amazing?
Some of the highlights were…1. looking through the teleporter at people around the world and you could actually take a snapshot of them, 2. taking a photo and then watching a robot draw you in the sand, and 3. creating music!
If we hadn’t of run out of time, we would have visited The Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. I guess we’ll just have to make it back to London again sometime!
