Crafts creativity photography

a little mod podge

I really like to make gifts for Christmas, but this year, with all our traveling my Christmas crafting was very limited. My sister-in-law had a great idea for a gift for the grandparents. Whenever a gift involves a picture of grandkids, you know you wonʼt go wrong.

We tried to get a good photo when we were all in Africa but these five wouldnʼt cooperate at the same time. Take two happened on a quick photo shoot in the Dallas Arts District. The result was so much better.

After deciding on a photo, I did a slightly sepia vintage looking effect on it, got it printed on cardstock, and we mod podged the heck out of it on canvas. The kids each wrote a special something about Pops and Hannah, which was also mod podged on. Handprints were the final kid touch, and of course, Anneke made it look good with her painting magic.

What do you think?

Quick question. I got a new computer with retina display. It seems every photo I upload looks pixelated. My question is, “What are you seeing?” It’s the weirdest thing because these photos did not look like this on my old computer!

Have no clue about the computer thing, but these pics look good to me and it´s a lovely idea for a gift!

    Jen,

I think that retina displays and hi-def in general are exaggerated and are more defined than real life. Your pictures look great. I wouldn't worry about the pixelation.

Jen – this is wonderful! I like the ones taken in Africa even though they weren't the most poised of poses
