Crafts creativity in the studio

in the studio :: crafting for america

Welcome to In The Studio, a place to show off your studio and meet some great artists! So I mentioned a couple of weeks ago about how Independence Day holds special memories for me. That was undoubtedly why my 4th of July crafting list was a bit long. I’m happy to say that the crafts I really, really wanted to do, we were able to do. They seriously proved great fun for all the kids (American and non-American) during their Winter break from school.

I’m so glad I had Jeremy pick up a few special craft items during his quick trip to the states. Jumbo popsicle sticks, and red, white, and blue duct tape…I mean what would we have done without them? The kids loved making these easy popsicle stick American flags. I loved the cute banner that made up all of these wonderful flags. Isn’t it fabulous?

The other craft I really wanted to make was a Patriotic Robot otherwise known as a Patri-botic, because honestly, what would Independence Day be without a robot dressed in red, white, and blue? We filled his body with star shaped sugar cookies and jam thumbprints. Yummy, although forgotten in the midst of sparklers and s’more roasting. Oops!

I hope your Independence Day celebrations were lovely. I’ll have more photos of our celebrating America’s freedom an ocean away next week!

{Craft ideas are from my Today’s Mama Independence Day crafting roundup.}

Now it’s your turn! Remember your “studio” can be anywhere. Let’s celebrate each other’s creativity by linking up and visiting as many as the other studios as you can. Check out the about post for more info and don’t forget to grab the In The Studio button!
