Welcome to In The Studio, a place to show off your studio and meet some great artists! Last week I mentioned that I was planning for a big Valentine’s Day party. It was awesome! I had a great team of people helping out. We spent the entire afternoon setting up so that we could achieve this…
The decorations were simple…white tablecloths with re-purposed lemonade bottles used as a vase for red hibiscus. Each table had 2 jars with a tea light candle in them, and the ever so talented Kenneth made awesome serviette rings out of wire to hold the serviettes. We had white sheer curtains up with egg carton hearts and floating wire yarn hearts in front of them. We also had red and white organza and a blue/green organza hanging to create atmosphere. As the sun went down, the lamps provided just the right amount of light to create a soothing, romantic space.
Do you see the wall of art? We had everyone write down what love is on the hearts made out of toilet paper roll cards. We drew cards throughout the evening and read the answer. Whoever wrote it won a piece of art to take home! We featured the following prints…
Cloudy Dream’s Elephants in Love
Little Giggler’s Live In Love
Shaped By Grace’s All You Need Is Love
What’s For Dinner’s Live Laugh Love
Falala Designs’ Love Printable
Studio JRU’s This Is Love featured in Incourage
My Owl Barn’s Owl Lover Calendar
I also had 3 originals up on the wall…
Acacia Love featuring my kids and the awesome acacia tree on our property. Under the tree reads, “You and me, friends we will always be.”
Love birds on a bike. Simple and sweet.
And love birds that say, “Where there is love, there is life.”
We kept the program simple and let everyone eat while the photo booth was available for those wanting to get a memory of the evening.
And the dessert? Well, you can’t have a party without dessert. I made red velvet heart shaped whoopie pies to go with a side of ice cream and chocolate sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking of these bad boys. (Photo taken the day after on my second round, because I ate the first one too fast.)
Of course, the evening would not be complete without a little music. Jeremy rocked some love tunes and then this duo did an impromptu diddy that brought the house down. I think this is the best photo of the evening.
Our special events team is already planning the next party. We may be a little crazy, but we love it!
Now it’s your turn! Remember your “studio” can be anywhere. Let’s celebrate each other’s creativity by linking up and visiting as many as the other studios as you can. Check out the about post for more info and don’t forget to grab the In The Studio button!
