I think I’ve discovered I’m a sucker for sweet, little board books. Now that my kids are older, they naturally gravitate toward chapter books but ah, those board books. I don’t think I will ever grow tired of them. 12 Little Blessings by Bonnie Rickner Jensen is no exception. As I read each page, I was reminded that daily counting your blessings is vital to living a healthy life. When we’re only in tune to the frustrations that life throws our way and not living a life of thankfulness, then we become burdened with a weight that will lead us to bitterness and discouragement. I love kid’s books that teach these very important life lessons to minds that are like sponges.
12 Little Blessings is a great book to have in your children’s library or as a baby shower gift. Each blessing is coupled with a Scripture and a prayer. The rhythmic flow of the words makes for an easy and fun read. The illustrations are beautiful as well (check it out here).

March 19, 2014 at 5:25 amHow sweet this is. I love Wooly books and board books too. We talk daily about what we are happy we have (she's only 2) and what we would want to say thank you to God for. Hopefully it's the start. We also pray before nap, bed and each meal and thank God for many things.. Hopefully she will have a grateful heart.

March 19, 2014 at 4:05 pmWe point them out to them and when they complain we try to point out the up side of situations. We ask what good things happened in a day too.
