Welcome to In The Studio, a place to show off your studio and meet some great artists! I hope your Friday is fantastic. I can’t believe we’re nearing the end of September. August and September are busy months around here celebrating birthdays and our anniversary. We’re rounding out the month celebrating my favorite red head and favorite daughter.
Emma G takes these parties quite seriously and is very meticulous about the planning. To give you an idea, I have to run all food ideas by her first. It makes me laugh, but I’m just as serious about party planning, so I try to go with the flow. Several weeks ago, she decided she wanted an 80’s themed party. I have no idea where this came from (she says she just thought it would be fun to have lived in the 80’s), but I’ll tell you what. I’ve had such a good time reaching into the past and grabbing a hold of memories. Neon, sweat bands, leg warmers, feathered hair, ah! Oh, and don’t even get me started on the music.
I’ll reveal more party details after it’s happened when I have fancy photos to show you. Today, I’ll show you the easy artwork that’s going to adorn our back veranda. I printed some 80’s icons and glued them to square boards using Mod Podge. Then, I did a coat of Mod Podge over the whole thing. Easy peasy, and I have something fun to display.
Joshua asked me three times what the pink and purple thing was. The words “cassette tape” just didn’t compute in his mind. Well, I’m off to a weekend of party preparations!
Now it’s your turn! Remember your “studio” can be anywhere. Let’s celebrate each other’s creativity by linking up and visiting as many as the other studios as you can. Check out the about post for more info and don’t forget to grab the In The Studio button!
