April Showers

When challenges or difficulties come my way, I love calling them “opportunities for growth.” After all, that’s just what they are. If we were never faced with hardship, how would we grow? As my kids have gotten older, the challenges that they are faced with increases…a big project at school, disagreements among friends, a test on a subject that they struggle with. I’m over at Tommy Nelson sharing the ways I try to help my kids embrace the idea that April showers bring May flowers. Do join me there!

My kids love it when I share stories of my {many} mistakes at their age. I also apologise about my current mistakes, which they definitely appreciate. Most importantly, I share with them the concrete ways God is helping me. They and I can see I have come a long way in managing my anger, and practicing patience, in the past couple years since I have been able to go to confession and receive Jesus in Holy Communion. Even my sister, Erin, has noticed positive changes in me. God is so good!!!

I think telling stories is so important for dealing with this!
