I’ve been thinking a lot about the words faith and fear. Let’s be honest. Most, if not all, of us have experienced some kind of fear at some point of time amidst the current world situation. Whether it be financial, health, family members, when that person ahead of you in line coughed, you’ve felt it. What I’ve realized is that it’s not a fear vs. faith game right now. They’re not on opposite sides of the spectrum. I don’t think we can say that if you have fear, you don’t have faith or vice versa, that if you are leaning on faith, you haven’t experienced fear.
Today I directed my thoughts toward courage. Courage is not the absence of fear but rather facing it head on. That takes a lot of faith. We can walk in courage knowing that there’s a God who sees us and loves us. He has not forgotten.
Today I encourage you to not put aside any fears you have experienced or are currently experiencing but to face them head on with courage. Talk about them. Write them down. Know that you are not alone and that being honest about it, well, that takes a tremendous amount of courage.
