Lately I’ve been bored with my grocery store snack selection. Maybe I’m just not looking hard enough, maybe I’m spoiled with all the choices we have in the states, or maybe I just needed to get creative! So began my search for homemade granola bars. I can get granola bars here but they come packed with sugar and preservatives, and for some reason they hurt my teeth when I eat them. I found this recipe using honey and brown sugar. Not only did I love them but everyone else in the family did, too! We are blessed to have an abundance of macadamia trees here so I used macadamia nuts in place of almonds. I really think you could use any nut you want. If you try them, I hope your family enjoys them as much as mine did!
