Tender Treasure :: Updates

I want to take a moment this week to give some Tender Treasure updates. You might remember the story of Pinkie, a volunteer at the Kabokweni Care Center. Full of life and a smile that is contagious! Last week she was beat up by a couple of ladies who live in Kabokweni. Ladies that she knew that harbor bitterness and anger in their hearts. Pinkie was taken to the hospital and checked out ok. The ladies were arrested, so justice seemd to be served. However, please pray for Pinkie that God would protect her from further harm. She is such a great woman of God, serving these kids with a heart of love and joy.

Several months ago, I featured Mbonisweni in this spot. We needed prayer for the approvals needed for a roof over an existing building to serve as a care center for the kids. I have good news to report! Construction has begun! Thanks for your prayers lifted up for this community! They have been answered!

Finally, I want to update you on Sipho and Khethiwe who recently lost their mom. The funeral was on Saturday. These kids are still dealing with so much emotional trauma which is evident on their faces. Sipho is not doing well at all. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. Our 10K Tuesday prayer challenge this week was to write their names on stones and carry around with you as a reminder to pray for them. A simple reminder yet it is so powerful!
