The Gift Of Life

Pardon my absence yesterday. I know you will understand as you continue reading this post.  Several weeks ago, my close and dear friend, Christine, asked me to be a part of the birth of her second son…as a support to her and her husband and also to document this special occasion through photos.  I can’t even describe how it made me feel.  To be a part of something so special and intimate, I was overjoyed to say the least.

The only births I have been a part of was birthing my 2 little sweeties.  Being on the other side was so different.  I could identify with what she was feeling but felt helpless.  But my identifying definitely helped me to pray for her, knowing exactly what she was going through.  But enough about me, because that’s not what this post was about.  This is about the miracle of life

Seeing the pain and effort a mother goes through to seeing that baby come out is something that is so amazing.  If you’ve seen it, you know what I mean.  It’s hard to describe, because it’s that incredible.  Life…it’s simply amazing.  And the way God created a woman’s body to deliver a baby…well…it’s just awesome.  Tears quickly welled up in my eyes as I saw him for the first time, and then I remembered, “Oh, yeah, I need to get some shots!”

As I drove home from the birthing center, in my sleep deprived fogginess, just as the sun was starting to rise, I just had to smile as I knew I just witnessed the miracle of life.  And it was incredible…

So congratulations, Jake and Christine!  He’s perfect!
