Not Another Knitting Post!

gift bundle

Well, I did warn you that Tuesdays post was only a pause in the knitting posts for this week!  It’s just one of those moments that my rather large project list and the time to make them seemed to actually coincide!  But this is actually more than just another knitting post.  This is also about celebrating a wonderful, close friend!

Yesterday was her birthday.  As I was finishing up her birthday present, I thought back to all the birthdays we’ve celebrated over the past 11 years of knowing each other.  Lots of them from surprise parties to dinner gatherings to a simple, quiet evening with a few close friends.  Unfortunately for Christine, the only pictures I could find from all those birthdays was from a dinner party we did at our house the first year we lived in Connecticut.  She’s going to love me, and she doesn’t even have a blog to get me back!

Christine's birthday

I won’t bore you with the details of how it happened, but for this season of our sabbatical, Christine and I are living in the same town just a couple of miles from each other!  So friend, I wish you another year full of blessings and love!

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot.  This is also a knitting post!  You probably know how much I love knitted cloths.  So…I made her the tea leaf cloth found in Knitting a Kiss in Every Stitch: Creating Gifts for the People You Love.  It took me forever to figure out the stem stitch for the leaf veins.  Don’t know why because now that I have it, it seems so simple.  Just like the cloth…lovely and simple…
