A Thankful Attitude

I don’t mean to sound repetitive with this thankfulness business, but the truth is that it’s been at the forefront of my mind.  And you really can’t be thankful enough, right?  Last week I wrote about stewarding the mysteries.  There’s a piece of Colossians 4:2, 3 that I’ve really been pondering this week (in bold below).

“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ…”

I think of how often I come to God with my petitions and requests and how easy it is to overlook the thankfulness bit.  This holiday season I have felt challenged more than ever to keep in an attitude of thankfulness.  It totally transforms my day-to-day.

What are you most thankful for today?  I’m thankful for my mother whose birthday is today!  Happy Birthday, Mom!
