I never make cobblers. I’m not sure why. I loved baked fruit desserts. For my side of the family, we had a Christmas get together on New Year’s Day. For some reason, apple cobbler just sounded good. That and I had plenty of apples to make it. I liked this recipe that I used. I omitted the nutmeg and lemon zest and only used 2 cups of sugar (one for the apples and one for the topping) instead of 3. I also didn’t put almonds in it. Even with all those changes it came out great! By the next evening, it was finished!
