the pine tree parable {giveaway}

This Christmas season I really wanted to have a basket of Christmas books set out for reading pleasure at any time.  I actually don’t have a whole lot of Christmas books, so I was so excited to add The Pine Tree Parable to my sparse collection.  The other night, as we lit the first fire of the season, I got the book out and handed it to the kids.  I loved hearing our budding reader read about generosity and our seasoned reader helping her out with big words.

The Pine Tree Parable is a beautiful story about giving our most treasured possessions to those who are less fortunate.  In the spirit of giving, I love being able to teach my kids that it is far more blessed to give than to receive.  Although board books typically signify young readers, I think this book is a great quick read for all members of the family to remind us that it’s not about what we get but that we walk in obedience to God when he says to give and that we can find so much joy from that.
