One day, when my sister-in-law and I needed something to keep all five kids busy, we had them make snowflakes. There were LOTS. My kids were particularly proud of two of their creations and the idea (again, thanks to my sis-in-law) was born to make napkins using their snowflakes as stencils.
Joshua’s design (above) was simple which made is so much easier to print onto the napkin. Emma Grace’s design was more intricate (below) which made it a bit harder and resulted in some parts not printing. It’s funny how their personalities were shining through in this project.
I made sure to bring the supplies with me (minus the fabric which I’ll get here) to S. Africa so we can try more screen printing. I love the possibilities of making fabric tags for gifts to simple designs on plain shirts or skirts.
Have you ever tried screen printing like this? Once I get all the supplies, I would like to show more of the process that we used to do this technique.
Linking up with Jennifer @ Studio JRU for Sneak Peek Friday.

January 23, 2013 at 8:31 pmWe experimented with silk screening this summer, and it was fun. Is this the same thing, or something else?
