i love you more {giveaway}

God can literally use anything to speak to us, if we’re open. That’s just what He did this week when we turned to page 100 in Sheila Walsh’s Shine Your Light Devotional. The topic was on brothers and sisters and how God put siblings together to practice love. Sometimes it feels like my kids fight a lot. They are together quite a bit since we home school. I set out a little challenge to bring in some love. Every day this week they had to tell the other one (at least once) “I love you” and the other one had to respond by saying “I love you more.” There was groaning at the thought of it, but I’ve noticed it being said on more than one occasion and even with a smile on their face. There’s power in those words, I tell you.

Through this girl’s devotional book, God has reminded me of the power of love. We have an amazing group of students here in our discipleship school. The other night I was blown away as they hosted a pajama night to bless all of us staff. We were instructed to come in our pj’s to our eating pavilion which was decorated with curtains and mattresses on the floor to sit. They served up a big breakfast (for dinner, my favorite!) complete with eggs, bacon, pancakes, and fruit. All of this to say thank you to the staff for investing into their lives. I was reminded of page 100 as emotion stirred in my heart. “I love you.” “I love you more.” It makes for a beautiful relationship, doesn’t it?
