Today’s giveaway is for the little (or perhaps not so little, as noted below) children. The Story of Easter is a beautiful board book that highlights the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection beginning with coming to Earth as a man. This book is intended for children 0-3, but my 8 year old daughter had a blast acting out motions to the story. As I watched her, I realized how perfect this simple little book would be as a fun way to tell the Easter story to all ages. It’s rhyming words easily roll off the tongue making it an entertaining read of a very important story.

March 7, 2013 at 6:44 pmMy kids love decorating eggs, but we sort of have two Easters – the egg one and the religious one. We usually do eggs on Saturday so we can focus on the religious side of things on Sunday.

March 7, 2013 at 7:13 pmA few years ago I started a tradition on Easter morning called "the easter tree"… it's a gawdy, obnoxious, marvelously happy way to start our sacred day. While the kids are sleeping, I go out into the yard and hang EVERYTHING they need for breakfast from the limbs of a tree in our front yard. When they wake, they see little boxes of cereal, donuts, bananas, bowls, spoons, juice boxes… all hanging from the tree with colorful ribbon. Then they pick breakfast as I remind them that BECAUSE of Jesus' sacrifice on Calvary, EVERYTHING our hungry souls need to be filled is "ON THE TREE". And THAT'S what makes EAster so amazing!
