eleven year old photo shoot

great smile

Long gone are the days when my boy gets excited about a photo shoot, but at least he doesn’t protest anymore either. It’s more like, “Ok, but will you pick out something for me to wear?” Gladly, but I know the key for him is to keep it super simple. Purple shirt (his current favorite color) and black jeans are pretty simple, I’d say. For me, it’s not necessarily about having fancy clothes but about documenting a new year, a growing boy, and the current likes and dislikes.

I can’t believe how fast this boy is growing right before my eyes. He still melts my heart the same as the day he was born. Love you, my Joshua!

I wanna know what you bribed him with.
My "almost" 11 yo DS only scowls and gives me the "really mom?" look. I'm afraid I'm going to have to pay him to get his 11 years done in July…

Sweet pictures! Yes, kids grow up way too fast. Photos are a great way to hold on to the memories. 🙂

I agree, I would much rather capture pure childhood memories over having an Anthropolgie catalogue picture. Excuse the rant, but I saw a photographer that had clothing recommendations on her blog which shared the retailers that she prefer you dress your children in for a shoot. They were like Gap and Janie and Jack. And my inward response was "Gee I'd hate for a kid to show up in something like Osh Kosh B'Gosh. It might ruin her image"
