Welcome to In The Studio, a place to show off your studio and meet some great artists! One of the great privileges we have in our line of work here in S. Africa are the days that we get to present a HOME to someone in need. You know what’s also cool? When we get to incorporate a little creativity into it.

We recently presented a HOME to Sfiso and Lizzie. My friend, co-worker, and mosaic extraordinaire, Kacy, works on a mosaic for the porch of each HOME we build. I was so glad the kids could help with the beautiful porch that reads mndeni or family in Siswati. Isn’t it awesome?

I also had the kids participate in writing blessings and notes to the family. I love the little creative touches that go into really celebrating the HOPE that comes in the form of a pair of keys to unlock a door into a safe and warm shelter for a family.
