I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. We certainly did. The festivities started with a small Christmas Eve gathering at our house complete with appetizers, floating decorations, ornament making, and good conversation. Emma Grace was sure to leave cookies and carrots for the big guy in the red suit even though she doesn’t really believe he sneaks in during the night to leave gifts under the tree.
The kids enjoyed their gifts Christmas morning. Emma Grace got a guitar and Joshua a drum. We’re thinking ahead to our retirement plan. 🙂 Joshua watched YouTube videos until he figured out how to master his Rubik’s Cube. Love that kid and his determination.
We enjoyed a simple Christmas dinner of grilled lamb chops (does that make us South African…eating lamb on Christmas day??), green bean casserole, and homemade French bread. It was a HOT day, so a big, elaborate meal was not required. The storms started rolling in the next day, typical after hot temps.
We’re still trying to finish the black, white, and green puzzle that exploded on our table Christmas day, and even though we took the tree and decorations down today, the house still doesn’t seem quite back to order.
Tis the season for making memories in the messiness of life!
