Welcome to In The Studio, a place to show off your studio and meet some great artists! Today is Valentine’s Day! Happy Valentine’s Day to you! The kids and I made our annual mailboxes earlier this week so we’ve been enjoying some great love notes and goodies to each other. I love that they don’t think themselves old enough for some Valentine’s fun.
This is maybe like the fifth year we’ve made Valentine’s mailboxes. It’s hard coming up with new design ideas each year! We invited friends over this year and went simple. Cereal boxes, scrapbook paper, scissors, glue sticks all littered the table while we created and laughed. It was bliss.
I just cut cereal boxes and stapled the sides together while the kids decorated the outside. Then I poked two holes and ran ribbon through to hang them on a doorknob or, as you can see, whatever they want to hang them from. (Ironically neither of my kids have a doorknob in their room.)
I’m spending my day planning for our big Valentine’s party tonight. Can’t wait to show you the highlights next week. Have a great Valentine’s Day and a great weekend, and stop by my Mailboxes for Valentine’s Day post at Today’s Mama for some awesome mailbox ideas!
Now it’s your turn! Remember your “studio” can be anywhere. Let’s celebrate each other’s creativity by linking up and visiting as many as the other studios as you can. Check out the about post for more info and don’t forget to grab the In The Studio button!
Note: I’ve had to change up the link up system. I’m now using Inlinkz hence the slightly different linkup steps. 🙂
