Happy Saturday to you! When you think Saturday morning, do you think cartons? Growing up Saturday morning and cartons went together like peanut butter and jelly, cream and sugar, bread and butter, well, you get the idea. Living in S. Africa without TV service, I have no idea what kind of cartons are on the tube these days. I do know, though, that Tommy Nelson has a great carton series involving a cute little caterpillar named Hermie.
I recently received the newest Hermie video, I Will Trust God No Matter What featuring 2 episodes packed with challenges to trust God. In the first episode, Hermie and the High Seas, God asks Hermie to build a boat even though there hasn’t been any rain for weeks. Sound familiar? In this Noah-esque tale, Hermie learns to trust God even when it doesn’t make sense and everyone else is making fun of him. The second episode, Who Is In Charge Anyway, teaches kids to trust God with the unique talents and gifts God has given them. When Freddie the Flea struggles with thinking his gifts aren’t as cool as spinning webs or other fun bug talents, God shows Him that he has his own unique gifts and that he’s not made by accident.
I love the Hermie videos and the clear Jesus message they teach. Even though they are intended for ages 4-7, I still find my 9 year old and 11 year old gravitating toward the screen when they’re on. Whether it’s Saturday morning cartoon time or just some chill time after a busy day, your DVD library will want Hermie videos stocked in it.
